We Chase Shadows

Goodreads
Richard Osman’s globe-trotting series ‘We Solve Murders’ with the thrilling new mystery, We Chase Shadows.
In the Italian hills, a body is found on the steps of a private villa at sunrise. Our mis-matched detective trio, Amy, Rose and Steve, return in pursuit of an elusive and ruthless killer.
Between Italy and Palm Springs, via Barcelona and Steve's sleepy village pub, they uncover an impossible case where it seems that everyone is hiding something
This second book in Richard Osman's We Solve Murders series is a tad better than the first book which is mediocre IMHO. There are a couple of not too shabby twists in this installment and I will probably read the next one too. I like that it has some humor, it is a quick read, and it kept me guessing the murderer.

Recommended if you have nothing else to read.

The daughter-in-law, Amy, made me chuckle a little when she was invited to Rose's book launch and she noticed the people are well dressed. She felt too casual with her jogging suit and trainers. She wondered what casual attire really means. This scenario reminds me of the very same casual dinner we had an eon ago. To us casual means decent clothing and leather dress shoes. A couple came in jogging suits and rubber shoes just like Amy and we were sure they felt out of place. They ended up going home early wondering what is casual attire because a few guests from Germany had on very nice clothing. One lady wore a stylish leather jacket with matching short skirt. She looked elegant but still casual. I never understand why people don't know the meaning of casual attire going to a dinner party whether it will be in a home or a restaurant. Jogging pants and trainers are NOT casual attire ever.
